HMH - Hospitality Management Holdings Eyes India’s Travel Sector Through Alliance with Cleartrip

Dubai-based HMH - Hospitality Management Holdings, a fast growing, fully-integrated hotel management and development company with operations across the Middle East and Africa, has signed an alliance with Cleartrip, one of UAE’s leading travel portal.

Welcoming the alliance with Cleartrip, Girma Wossenseged, vice president, e-commerce development, HMH, observed, “Our alliance will help us take advantage of the rapidly expanding and lucrative travel sector in India, which is expected to grow to over $20 billion in the current year. India is a major source market for Dubai’s vibrant tourism industry and through our alliance with Cleartrip we are confident of growing our market share significantly in the Indian tou

rism sector, which the UN World Tourism Organisation estimates will produce 50 million outbound tourists each year by 2020. ” According to Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), India accounted for 638,103 hotel guests in Dubai in 2010, the second largest number after Britain, and also showed the strongest growth in passenger numbers at Dubai International Airport. Zawya.com sees a 20% increase in the number of Indian travellers to the GCC and MENA region.

“IT and online booking are the future and our current total of 35-40% online bookings will continue to see an upward trend. This strategic alliance will ensure our hotels reach the length and breadth of Middle East through Cleartrip’s well-entrenched reach and network.

Speaking about the alliance, Mr. Tarique Khatri Senior Vice President, Cleartrip.ae said, “Our alliance with HMH is a sign of deeper commitment to offer greater value to our growing customer base in the UAE. As one of the leading Indian travel portals that boasts of a strong footing in the India market, we feel this alliance will offer an incredible fillip to HMH who is looking for a larger share of the Indian tourism pie. Since the phenomenal launch of our UAE travel portal 2-years back, our success has hinged upon we being able to deliver value to our customers, something we will continue to do moving forward."

The four distinct hotel brands in our portfolio – Coral Hotels & Resorts, Corp Executive Hotels, ECOS Hotels and EWA Hotel Apartments - offer a comprehensive range of hospitality options to the international traveller, spanning budget hotels, serviced apartments, corporate hotels and luxury hotels. We expect our current portfolio of 33 hotels to expand to 56 properties internationally by the year end,” Wossenseged explained.
